These 15 foods will help you build muscle fast. This high-protein food list isn’t just full of common foods like chicken breast and eggs. Discover some new protein options that you never considered before. These foods are specifically chosen for muscle growth, taste, and novelty.
🔥 FREE 6 Week Shred: http://bit.ly/2Bv8CL4
Building muscle is influenced by what you eat at least just as much as the workouts you’re doing. In fact, if your diet isn’t on point you’re not going to build much muscle regardless of how many curls, presses, and squats you do at the gym. Unfortunately, people tend to focus on their sets, reps, and trips to the gym more than they focus on what they’re doing afterward in the kitchen. So today I want to give you guys 15 of the best foods you can eat to help build muscle as fast as possible
Before we jump into options like chicken, fish, and eggs that we all probably already know about let’s talk about some lesser-known protein sources that you may not be aware of. For example, egg life egg white wraps can help you increase your protein intake while enjoying some really tasty options like soft tacos, low-carb chicken enchiladas, and of course, any kind of wrap idea you can think of whether that’s deli cuts and cheese, or a tuna wrap. Egg wraps are a relatively new addition to grocery stores so a lot of you may not be aware that these wraps are entirely made of protein and they come in many different flavors including original, everything, and southwest style which works so well for soft tacos by the way. Each egg wrap has 5 grams of protein, 0 grams of fat, and 0 grams of carbs.
Another high-protein option that you might be unaware of is mung bean fettuccini. I’ve made a light fettuccini alfredo with this many times and it always tastes amazing. However, unlike regular fettuccini which has over 42 grams of carbs and only 4 to 7 grams of protein, mung bean fettuccini has a whopping 24 grams of protein and only 20 grams of carbs most of which happens to be fiber. The best part is like I said it truly tastes delicious. The same company also makes black bean spaghetti which has a very similar macronutrient profile.
Next is beef jerky and turkey jerky. Both of these are high-protein snacks that taste really good and can be eaten whenever you’re short on time or out and about. One of the leanest options that’s almost entirely made out of protein is Jack Links zero-sugar beef jerky. It contains 0 carbohydrates, only 2 grams of fat, and 13 grams of protein. This is by far one of the best high-protein snacks you can have. The macronutrient distribution is far better than something like a protein bar and contains very few additional ingredients aside from beef.
Next, I want to draw your attention to seitan which is a plant-based source of protein, that stands out among other plant-based sources. For those of you who are vegan, vegetarian, or just trying to reduce your meat consumption, seitan can be cooked to taste just like chicken and meat, and it’s naturally very high in protein, typically containing around 25-30 grams of protein per 3.5-ounce serving. It’s also one of the very few plant-based protein sources that contain all nine essential amino acids. Unlike other vegetarian sources of protein, it’s naturally low in carbohydrates and contains beneficial nutrients like iron, calcium, and selenium.
Now a lesser-known meat is Bison meat. Bison or buffalo meat is great for building muscle due to its high-quality amino acid profile. It’s also very lean so it has a much lower fat content compared to beef. This means that it’ll help you build muscle while minimizing excess calorie intake helping you stay lean as well. It’s also full of vital nutrients like iron, zinc, and vitamin B12. These are all crucial for muscle function. For example, Iron is a key component of hemoglobin, which is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to your muscles while you exercise. Without enough iron, your muscles may not get enough oxygen, leading to fatigue, and decreased performance. The other nice thing about Bison is that it typically receives much fewer hormones and antibiotic treatments when compared to regular beef. This is mostly because Bison is usually raised in more natural environments and ends up leaner and healthier. So unless your beef is pasture-raised and grass-fed, bison is almost always a better option.
Let’s now throw in another snack that has amazing macros for raising your protein intake without taking in additional calories. Light string cheese, specifically my favorite brand is Frigo light string cheese. As I alluded to earlier, most people believe that they’re making a healthy muscle-building choice by eating protein bars. But each of these cheese sticks contains 6 grams of protein and only 2.5 grams of fat with 50 calories overall. that means you can eat 4 of them and only take in 200 calories along with 24 grams of

I’m a firm believer in real food to fuel your muscle-building journey 💪
That being said, here are my top 3 muscle building foods:
1. Lean Red Meats 🥩
These aren’t just tasty, they deliver a powerful punch of creatine, zinc, and B12, all crucial for muscle growth and repair. Plus, they boast a complete set of essential amino acids your muscles need to thrive.
2. Lean White Meats 🍗
Don’t underestimate the power of chicken, turkey, or fish! They provide a high-quality protein source with a lighter fat profile. Think of them as lean protein powerhouses for building lean muscle mass.
3. Lean Sources of Dairy 🥛
Dairy gets a bad rap sometimes, but low-fat options like cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and skim milk offer a fantastic source of protein and calcium, crucial for bone health and muscle function.
Remember: Whole, unprocessed foods like these are not only the tastier choice but also offer a synergy of nutrients that work together to optimize your muscle-building potential.
Ditch the processed stuff and embrace the power of real food!

In a nutshell:
The best sources of protein are animal-based foods such as eggs, seafood, and meat. Nevertheless, lots of veggies or plant-based foods are also amazing sources of protein. So, if you`re a vegan or simply prefer low-calorie vegetables to animal products, then these plant-based proteins are exactly what you need. And so, we`ve rounded up a list of 15 high-protein vegetables you can add to your muscle-building diet plan.
You`re probably well acquainted with many of them such as spinach, green peas, and lentils, but some may be a surprise to you. This leafy green vegetable is high in protein yet has very low calories. A cup of boiled kale gives you 2. 5 grams of protein.
Collard greens, albeit not the most commonly used veggie, are high in protein, providing a generous 4 grams of protein per cooked cup. A cup of collards also gives you a healthy dose of vitamins K, A, C, and B. For every cup of fresh spinach you consume, your body gets around 1 gram of protein. In addition to being a solid protein source, broccoli has a plethora of noteworthy health benefits.
Like other cruciferous veggies, it helps reduce the risk of certain cancers. This fiber-rich vegetable also has vitamins K and C, selenium, and phosphorus. A cup of cooked broccoli has 5 grams of protein while 1 cup of raw broccoli contains 2. 5 grams.
If only many people could learn how to cook Brussel sprouts properly, then they`d find out that these green veggies aren`t so bad after all. Baking or sautéeing this fiber-protein powerhouse makes for a crisp, flavorful way to get your daily amounts of calcium, zinc, choline, copper, and vitamin K. A cup of cooked Brussel sprouts boast 5. 5 grams of protein.
Some like to eat them raw and for such people, they`d get around 3 grams of protein per cup. This vegetable is a great source of protein, with 1 cup of cooked asparagus providing 4. 2 grams of protein. A cup of cooked mung beans contains a whopping 14 grams of protein.
Like mung beans, many types of legumes are chock-full of protein. Anyway, a cup of chickpeas provides around 14 grams of protein. Additionally, they`re a great source of fiber and iron and are low in fat and calories. With 18 grams of protein per cooked cup, lentils are truly a protein powerhouse.
Like other pulses, lentils are rich in minerals and B vitamins. Eating lentils (and other pulses) as part of a healthy diet has been linked to reduced risk of chronic disease, including type-2 diabetes and heart disease. Lentils also contain a great dose of antioxidants, which aid in combating certain diseases. It`s too rich in protein to pass up if you want to gain muscle mass.
A cup of cooked green peas contains 8. 24 grams of protein. Besides, green peas don`t have to be unappetizing, especially since you can add them to many recipes like bacon and eggs.

You need to make sure you’re accomplishing 3 things for an effective muscle building diet plan: eating at a slight calorie deficit, eating adequate protein every day, and not eating like complete crap. These will account for let’s say 90% of the muscle growth you experience from your bulking meal plan. But what muscle building foods and nutrition tips can we incorporate to get that extra 10%? Well, there are a few additional things we can do when it comes to how to diet to gain muscle and what to eat to build muscle faster that can help speed up the muscle building process. And I’ll show you exactly how to do just that and provide you with a sample muscle building meal plan here.
The first thing you’ll want to do for an effective muscle building diet plan is take your daily protein intake and spread that out into ideally 4-5 meals throughout the day with each of them having a minimum of 20g of protein. It also makes sense to ingest an adequate amount of protein shortly before sleep since that’s the longest period you’ll go without food. That’s also why you might want to bias a little more of your daily protein towards this pre-sleep meal with at least 40g of slow digesting protein.
The next tip here is to incorporate “muscle building foods”. First, you want to opt for high quality protein sources that are not only high in leucine content, but also high in digestibility. In addition to this, you can opt for more unsaturated fats as opposed to saturated fats, which may bias more of the weight you put on to be muscle as opposed to fat. Olive oil and salmon specifically are two unsaturated fat sources I’d highly recommend incorporating in your muscle building diet.
Now the last tip when it comes to how to diet to gain muscle here is to periodize your diet. Although we want most of the weight you put on to be muscle, it will always come with a bit of fat gain with it. And as your body fat creeps up during a bulk, you actually become less efficient at putting on muscle. Meaning, that as you continue to gain weight and your body fat slowly creeps up, then it would be best to occasionally “re-sensitize” your body for more efficient growth by stripping off some of the excess fat you put on before you continue to focus on gaining more weight again.
So, to sum up all the muscle building nutrition tips covered:
1. Evenly distribute your protein throughout the day into 4-5 meals, each consisting of at least 20g of a high quality protein source. Biasing more of your protein (at least 40g) towards a pre-sleep meal is also a good idea to stimulate protein synthesis overnight.
2. Optimize your food choices. Opt for higher quality protein sources and incorporate more unsaturated fat instead of saturated fat (olive and salmon oil may be the most beneficial). This may enable more of the weight you gain to be muscle as opposed to fat.
3. Periodize your diet by transitioning through phases of a calorie surplus (e.g. 3 months) with phases of a calorie deficit (e.g. 1 month). This way you’ll be able to occasionally re-sensitize your body to put on muscle more efficiently.
All in all, guys, I hope that you were able to see that it’s the little details like this that really do make all the difference in the long run. And for a step-by-step program that shows you not only how to approach your diet and what to eat, but also pairs this with a weekly workout plan so that you can build lean muscle as efficiently as possible with science, then simply take the analysis quiz to discover which science-based program would be best for you and where your body is currently at below:
